An early start saw us leave Dublin on a comfy flight to one of ryanairs  destinations memmingen (A field and cow shed a few hours from Munich) With a bit of fun at Dublin having to weigh boats and kit inc an extra charge 20e per Kilo with one of the boats 6kg over weight we shuffled stuff around so was weighed at 20kg before the guy turned his back and we reloaded her and sent her through oversize baggage before making our way to security at a very fast pace.

After landing we head to find our hire car we booked a golf we got a tigiru. which was a nice surprise so four people 3 boats and bags fitted  with ease. we had all the mod cons including a sat nav that took us nearly 2 hours to just change the language! IMG_0811

German fuel price 1.52euro

Austrian fuel price 1.11euro

guess where we’ll be filling up!

on wards and southwards past rolling mountains and autobahn routes we made our way to Lienz and found the campsite which is to be our home for nearly 2 weeks.IMG_0816 A Litre can of Beer!!!

The campsite is nice, weather is hot and the Irish are in town, with a crew consisting of, me, Brian, Dee, Siobhan, arriving today joining Ronnie who got here yesterday, Paul and Orky who cruised down after the world cup and Tom who got here the beginning of the month. the later had made sure we were known with Tom already a celebrity amongst the Kebab shop and the Pizza house as well as the swimming pool after his broken nose incident.

The evening we pitched camp before going to check out the hole.

its fast, steep, retentive (everything Ronnie hates)

But it seemed to work with nice cool water that's as clean as tap water we had a short session just to acclimatise before heading for town to see what we could find.
